刀郎先生寫了《羅剎海市》，據聞取材聊齋，火遍神州，雄踞各大音樂平台榜首。報導在這裡。
宋德利先生把它翻譯成英文。宋德利先生的簡介：男，知名雙語翻譯家，作家，1944 年出生於天津市武清縣。1963 年考入南開大學外國語言文學系英語專業。南開大學和天津外語學院客座教授及文學翻譯研究生導師。2019 年度南開大學百年校慶杰出校友，代表作英譯《聊齋》、《論語》、漢譯《道德情操論》、《迷途之鳥》、《飛鳥集》等。

The procurer in charge in Gougou Ying is called Mahu.

（譯者註：花場，指風月場。風月場，指情場，但多指妓院。）

She has two touching-shoulder ears and a three-hole nose.
未曾開言先轉腚
Before speaking, she always turns her butt.
每一日蹲窩裡把蛋來臥
Every day she squats down in the nest to hatch eggs.
老粉嘴多半輩兒以為自己是隻雞
（譯者註：雞的中性英譯是chicken，但其實這裡所指的應是母雞，英文應是hen。但從歌中使用的人稱代詞看，刀郎在這個問題上似乎有點混亂，一會兒用他，一會兒用她。不知是否故意而為之。為了行文方便，雞我用了中性詞。但人稱代詞我用了她。）
For most of her life, this pink-beat old bird thinks she is a chicken.

（譯者註：宋元時期演出雜劇、百戲的場所，多為欄杆搭起的大棚，故稱。後泛指劇場；也指妓院。這裡可以理解成娛樂節目。諷刺的是在娛樂節目裡一些有影響力的人裝得很高大上。）

Eunuchs have always loved good reputations ever since ancient times.

Mahu donkey loves to listen to the songs of Nayou bird.
三更的草雞打鳴當司晨
The hen in midnight actually crows to report the dawn.
半扇門楣上裱真情
The true feelings are put on a lintel of a half-door.
它紅描翅那個黑畫皮
There are red painted wings and black painted skin,
綠繡雞冠金鑲蹄
With a green embroidered cockscomb and gold inlaid hooves.
可是那從來煤蛋兒生來就黑
But coal balls are black in born.
不管你咋樣洗呀那也是個臟東西
No matter how to wash and wash, they are still dirty things.

That Mahu doesn’t know he is a donkey.

How can a pig or a dog be allowed to rush into a painted hall?

How can a shoehorn be used like a jade-ware Ruyi?
愛字有心心有好歹
The structure of the character of love contains a character of heart but a heart can be good or bad.
百樣愛也有千樣的壞
A hundred kinds of love also have a thousand kinds of badness.
女子為好非全都好
The character of woman and that of son can form a character of good by being put together. But that doesn’t mean everything is good.
還有黃蜂尾上針
And there is also the needle on the tail of a wasp.
西邊的歐鋼有老闆
（譯者註：西邊的歐洲有個鋼鐵企業，它有個老闆生了個兒子名叫做維特根斯坦。據說這個老闆真有其人。他是個哲學家，說了些很有道理的名言。）
